NSW: Hollywood star slams the slots for Souths
SYDNEY, Dec 6 AAP - Hollywood actor Russell Crowe and his NRL club co-owner Peter Holmes
a Court are drumming up support for their no-pokies plan for South Sydney Leagues Club.
About 10,000 Souths fans will receive an email from the pair today urging them to back
the vision ahead of next week's crucial meeting of the leagues club board to decide the
option.
"We are seeking your help to convince the board that a club with no pokies can work
in Redfern in 2008," the letter quoted in News Limited newspapers says.
To push their plan, T-shirts have been produced with the slogan "A club with no pokies",
the newspaper reports.
