SA: Magistrate's name revealed as case continues

ADELAIDE, Dec 23 AAP - The identity of an Adelaide magistrate charged with child sex
offences has been revealed ahead of his case resuming in January.

Richard Dutton Brown, 60, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of indecent assault
and two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, the allegations dating back to 1977.

Brown was charged in 2006 but his identity remained suppressed until a ruling by the
full court of the South Australian Supreme Court on Monday.

His case came before the SA District Court on Tuesday but because of the nature of
the hearing details cannot be revealed.

The case was due to return to court on January 12.

Brown has worked as a magistrate in South Australia since 1979 but is currently on
paid leave from his position.
