Vic: Lillian Frank laments death of friend Robert Sangster
MELBOURNE, April 8 AAP - Melbourne socialite Lillian Frank said today late racing tycoon
Robert Sangster was a generous man who touched many people.
Mr Sangster, 67, died yesterday afternoon at his London home after a battle with pancreatic
cancer.
"I'm very sad, I really am. I really liked Robert," Mrs Frank, who is a regular on
the Melbourne racing scene, said when informed of Mr Sangster's death today.
"He was fun, he was very nice and he will be missed by a lot of people.
"He touched a lot of people.
"He was such a generous man.
"You could ask Robert to come to any charity event and he would be there.
"He loved life so much and he did a great deal for racing in Australia.
"I knew he was sick but I'm shocked at how quickly this has happened."
A message on the answering machine of Mr Sangster's former wife Susan Renouf said Lady
Renouf was in Adelaide celebrating her daughter Caroline's 40th birthday.
