Vic: Man airlifted to hospital with serious injuries
MELBOURNE, Aug 17 AAP - A man was airlifted to Melbourne's Alfred Hospital after an
explosion ripped through his Wendouree house, in western Victoria, police said today.
Police said the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire which took place at about
11pm (AEST) yesterday was unknown.
It's understood the man, 29, and his wife were in the house when there was an explosion.
The man's wife jumped out of a window and went to neighbours to raise the alarm.
Firefighters found the man inside the house and he was transported to the Ballarat
Hospital for treatment.
But was then airlifted to the Alfred Hospital suffering very serious internal injuries.
Initial indications are that the fire was accidental.
